What each product actually is

Turvo is a collaboration-centric cloud TMS for freight brokers, 3PLs, shippers and carriers, built around real-time visibility and a shared communication layer between supply-chain parties. Cargavo is a TMS for freight brokers that turns a broker’s own negotiated rate grids into an instant purchase price and a marked-up sell price, behind a branded customer portal.

Short verdict

Turvo is a genuinely strong platform and it is priced for the operations it is designed to run: multi-party collaboration, an integration hub for WMS, ERP and load boards, a driver app, and an included onboarding manager who migrates your data. A brokerage of 2 to 25 people is not that operation. If your problem is that quoting still happens in a spreadsheet and your customer emails you for a price, the $5,000/month entry point buys a platform whose most expensive parts you will not switch on. If your problem is coordination across warehouses, carriers and shippers at scale, Cargavo does not solve it and Turvo does.

How much does Turvo cost per month?

Turvo publishes “Starts at $5,000 / Month” for Core TMS, with Enterprise available upon request. Cargavo publishes 49 €, 149 € and 399 € per month, or 490 €, 1,490 € and 3,990 € per year, billed per organization. Both figures come from the vendors’ own pricing pages.

Turvo’s pricing page states one number: Core TMS — “Plan, Execute and Settle Freight” — “Starts at $5,000 / Month”. The Enterprise tier is “Available Upon Request”. That is more transparency than most enterprise TMS vendors offer, and it deserves credit rather than suspicion.

PlanTurvoCargavo
EntryCore TMS — starts at $5,000/month49 €/month — 3 members, 25 customers, 200 quotes/month, 10 grids

Top publishedEnterprise — available upon request399 €/month — 30 members, 1,000 customers, 10,000 quotes/month, 200 grids

“Starts at” is doing real work in that sentence: it is a floor, not a quote. What sits above it depends on scope, and the pricing page does not say. For a brokerage sizing its software budget, the floor alone is the decisive number — $60,000 a year before implementation.

Cargavo is a TMS for freight brokers priced for the other end of the market: 490 € a year on Starter, 3,990 € on Scale, billed per organization rather than per seat, and the trial starts without a credit card.

Is Turvo too big for a brokerage of 2 to 25 people?

Turvo’s Core plan includes a dedicated onboarding manager, virtual training and data migration — an implementation project, not a subscription you start on a Tuesday. Cargavo is a TMS for freight brokers designed to be useful on day one: rebuild one Excel rate sheet and quote a real lane.

The number is only half the story; the buying motion is the other half. Turvo’s Core plan lists a dedicated onboarding manager, virtual training, data migration, support centre and community access as inclusions. That is an honest description of what it takes to run the platform well, and it tells you the shape of the commitment: scoping, migration, training, go-live.

For a 3-person brokerage, the calendar cost is often heavier than the invoice. The lane you needed to quote on Monday is still unquoted in week six.

Cargavo is a TMS for freight brokers built around one move: rebuild your own carrier rate grid from Excel or CSV, and quote from it immediately. Four grid models cover the European road market — weight_zone (zones × weight brackets), pallet (price by pallet count × zone), mpl_bracket (linear-metre / LDM brackets) and hybrid_weight (a flat rate below a threshold, a rate above it). Taxable weight with an LDM floor and a configurable volumetric ratio, configurable rounding, an indexed fuel surcharge and options such as tail lift, ADR, ad valorem insurance and appointment booking sit on top. There is no migration project because there is nothing to migrate: the spreadsheet you already hold is the input.

What does Cargavo not replace in Turvo?

Cargavo does not replace Turvo’s collaboration layer, its integration hub for WMS, ERP and load boards, its driver app, or its inventory and warehouse visibility. Cargavo has no carrier API and no EDI connection. It replaces the spreadsheet a small broker quotes from today.

Being specific here matters more than winning the comparison. Turvo does several things Cargavo does not do at all:

  • Multi-party collaboration — a shared communication layer across shippers, carriers and 3PLs, which is Turvo’s founding idea.
  • An integration hub for WMS, ERP and load boards. Cargavo ships zero carrier API and zero EDI connections today. Not a paid add-on, not a roadmap tease — it does not exist.
  • A driver app, appointment scheduling, and inventory and warehouse visibility.
  • Order-to-shipment planning across a supply chain rather than a brokerage.

What Cargavo does instead is narrow and economic. One rebuilt grid produces two prices: the purchase price the carrier charges you, and the sell price your customer sees. The margin rule is set per customer — percent, computed as p/(1-m), or absolute per bracket — and it is applied server-side. Your customer, in a portal where your customers quote themselves, sees the sell price and only the sell price: never the purchase price, never the margin. Quotes are referenced Q-YYYY-NNNN and become shipments S-YYYY-NNNN when accepted.

Which TMS fits a small freight brokerage?

A brokerage of 2 to 25 people typically needs instant quoting from its own rate grids, per-customer margins, and a client portal — for a few hundred euros a month. Cargavo is a TMS for freight brokers priced at 49/149/399 € with a 14-day card-free trial and an interface in en, fr, es and de.

Match the tool to the bottleneck. If your bottleneck is that a quote request arrives by email and takes twenty minutes of spreadsheet lookups, the fix is a pricing engine over your own grids, not a supply-chain collaboration platform.

Cargavo bills per organization, so headcount inside a plan does not move the price: Starter carries 3 members, Growth 10 and Scale 30. It runs in English, French, Spanish and German, and bills in EUR, USD, GBP, CHF, CAD, MAD and PLN from the Growth plan — relevant if you quote a German shipper on Monday and a Spanish one on Tuesday.

The customer portal is included in every plan: your client simulates a price, requests a quote even for a lane you hold no grid for, books, sees their history, and messages you in context. Cargavo is a TMS for freight brokers, and on the Scale plan that portal is white-labelled to your brand, not ours.

When the other product is the better choice

When is Turvo the better choice?

Choose Turvo if you need real-time collaboration across shippers, carriers and warehouses, an integration hub for WMS and ERP, a driver app, or a vendor-led implementation with data migration included. Cargavo does none of those things at any price.

Turvo is the better product for you if any of these is true:

  • You coordinate shippers, carriers and warehouses in one workflow and the coordination itself is the problem.
  • You need an integration hub connecting WMS, ERP and load boards to your TMS.
  • You need a driver app, appointment scheduling, or inventory and warehouse visibility.
  • You want a vendor-led implementation with a dedicated onboarding manager and data migration included in the plan.
  • Your volume makes $5,000/month a reasonable line item against the headcount it replaces.

In all of those cases the honest recommendation is Turvo, not Cargavo.

What Cargavo does not do

  • No carrier API and no EDI connection. Carriers are onboarded by rebuilding their rate grid in a structured grid builder.
  • Not a freight exchange. Cargavo does not find you a truck and holds no load board.
  • No fleet management: no driver app, no vehicle planning, no eCMR, no telematics.
  • No warehouse management and no customs filing.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Turvo cost?

Turvo’s own pricing page states that Core TMS “Starts at $5,000 / Month” and that the Enterprise tier is “Available Upon Request”. No other figures are published. Verified 23 July 2026 on turvo.com/pricing.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Turvo for a small brokerage?

Cargavo is a TMS for freight brokers at 49 €/month (Starter), 149 €/month (Growth) and 399 €/month (Scale), billed per organization with a 14-day trial and no credit card. It is cheaper because it is narrower: no collaboration layer, no integration hub, no driver app, no carrier API or EDI. It rebuilds your negotiated rate grids and produces purchase and sell prices from them.

Does Turvo offer a free trial?

No free trial is stated on Turvo’s pricing page as of 23 July 2026; the page routes visitors to a demo. That does not mean a trial cannot be arranged — only that none is published. Cargavo publishes a 14-day trial that starts without a credit card.

Can Cargavo replace Turvo?

Not feature for feature. Cargavo has no supply-chain collaboration layer, no WMS/ERP integration hub, no driver app and no carrier API or EDI. It replaces the spreadsheet a small broker quotes from: rebuild a carrier rate grid in one of four models (weight_zone, pallet, mpl_bracket, hybrid_weight) and the same engine returns the purchase price and the customer’s sell price, with the margin hidden from the customer.
